I sit in silence, paused for thought,
My inspiration lost
I want it back, where did it go?
I’ll find it at any cost

I know what you mean. But even then- you creating something out of nothing! Not blocked at all – it’s an illusion 🙂
July 26, 2017 at 3:57 pm
I like that. Thank you.
July 26, 2017 at 12:57 pm
So simple yet so deep
July 26, 2017 at 3:56 pm
Thank you, Colin.

After every few days, this happens. We feel like something is missing…
I get that.
July 26, 2017 at 1:33 pm
blood, sweat and tears
Is that what I need?
July 26, 2017 at 4:17 pm
i’ve found it seems it is what some inspirations ask of us if we want to catch them 🙂
July 26, 2017 at 8:33 pm
Yes, I understand what you mean. 🙂
July 26, 2017 at 2:03 pm
Sometimes I find feeling the need to wrote often blocks the desire to write. I often put that much emphasis on having to write everyday, as if it some law us writers must adhere to, that I look back on some bits I’ve written and question if indeed I’d written it.
I hope your inspiration returns, and you find the words to pen, for I much love reading that which you do.
July 26, 2017 at 3:55 pm
I looked through my drafts and have found so much I have written and don’t remember writing. It makes me wonder what my state of mind was when I did write them.

I do the same to be honest. I’ve never really kept a diary, but writing offers a great window into my part mindset.
July 26, 2017 at 8:34 pm
I know what you mean. Even if I write it out and not post it, I find it therapeutic.
July 26, 2017 at 8:45 pm
Agreed. It’s like a rush of endorphins that ironically calms the itch.
July 26, 2017 at 2:22 pm
This reminds me of a poem that I wrote called My Lost Dream.
July 26, 2017 at 3:54 pm
I will go and have a look!
July 26, 2017 at 2:36 pm
Don’t worry the block won’t last for long, rest your mind and it will come back.
I will certainly try. Thank you.
July 26, 2017 at 3:20 pm
Good luck girl :))
Thank you very much!
July 26, 2017 at 5:10 pm
Inspiration is quickened by reading others’ work. It tends to spark an idea…….try that😊
July 26, 2017 at 8:32 pm
Very good idea. I will certainly do that. So many voices on this site and they all need an ear.
July 26, 2017 at 7:31 pm
Sometimes, writing about an image helps. You can look at it and discover what your inner self sees. For instance, I think there is a poem in the picture accompanying this post, a girl being carried by birds. There’s a story there.
Good Luck, Sara:)
I love that idea. I usually search images to match my words, I’ve never thought to write words to match an image. I think I may give it a try.
July 26, 2017 at 7:47 pm
You’ll find it when you least expect it. That’s how it is for me, anyway.
July 26, 2017 at 8:31 pm
I do like it when it finds me instead of searching for it. Thanks 🙂
July 26, 2017 at 8:08 pm
Good to see you postin again. How’s Sweden?
July 26, 2017 at 8:30 pm
It was wonderful, although I left my heart there so I will have to go back soon!
July 26, 2017 at 8:42 pm
Wishing that your dream comes true.
July 28, 2017 at 7:42 pm
Aww, thank you 🙂
July 26, 2017 at 9:35 pm
I’m the opposite, I rarely go looking for writing inspiration, unlike my frequent photo forays. Poems as such often come (well once or twice a month) middle of the night, early morning ( a time of arrousal?). However, I can always place a photo with a poem and thus there is a symbiosis, between my two creative expressions.

Wow! I loved this because I have been there and struggled with it too. So wonderful when there is a flow and not a block! Thanks so much for this, Sara!

Creativity ebbs and flows. Tonight for example. I wasn’t feeling the least creative but rather peckish. I’m blaming hormones lol. My antitode for you thus is …. chocolate! And relaxation. And virtual hugs from us 🙂
August 1, 2017 at 10:08 am
Ooh chocolate and hugs are required today. Thanks 🙂
July 29, 2017 at 8:01 am
I know the feeling well!

Relatable. I’ll get a great idea, not write it down (’cause I think I’ll remember it later), and then forget it! Haha.
August 1, 2017 at 10:26 am
I’m lucky enough to retain ideas, I’m just lacking at the moment.
July 30, 2017 at 9:36 pm

You know Sara, I don’t think I’ve told you this yet but I really like your site. I’ve found myself nodding in rhythm to what you’re writing, especially regarding the no social media essay. Anyway, cheers. – Joey
Why thank you Joey. It makes it worthwhile to know that people enjoy what I write.
